Inclusion

At Bannerman Road Children’s Centre we offer an inclusive and supportive learning environment in order to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

We are an inclusive setting and ensure all areas of the building are accessible to wheelchairs. We also understand the make-up of our community and the large number of children who live in homes where English is an additional language. In order to help children and parents feel valued and understood we have a number of bilingual workers including Somali, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.

We understand and recognise that some children may be faced with varying degrees of Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and work closely with parents and outside agencies to help children develop their learning in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

If you have any concerns regarding your child’s progress in learning or development, we encourage you speak to your child’s key worker or the SEND.

For the SEND Policy please see our policy page.

For more information regarding the work we do around SEND and inclusion, please see our SEND offer and Accessibility Plan below.
